Privacy Policy :- DocuScanCam: Document Scanner & PDF Maker
This policy explains how DocuScanCam (the "App", package
com.docuscancam.pdfscanner), published by RITESH KUMAR TIWARI ("we", "us"), handles information when you use it. We built DocuScanCam so that your documents stay on your device.
1Your documents and scans
Stays on your device
- Scanning: pages are captured with Google's ML Kit document scanner, provided by Google Play services on your device. The App receives only the finished page images.
- Editing: filters, cropping, rotation, the eraser, background removal, highlights, text, signatures and stamps are all applied on your device. Background removal and object detection use ML Kit subject segmentation, which also runs on the device.
- Text recognition (OCR): text is extracted on the device with ML Kit text recognition.
- Storage: scans, saved signatures and stamps, and your settings are kept in the App's private storage, which other apps can't read.
- PDF passwords: passwords you enter to lock or unlock a PDF are used once for that file and are never saved or sent anywhere.
- Importing: when you import an image or PDF, the App can read only the files you pick in the system file picker.
- Sharing and exporting: your documents leave the App only when you export or share them. They go to the app or place you choose (email, messaging, cloud drive and so on), and that service's privacy policy then applies.
We do not run servers that receive your documents. We cannot see, access or recover your scans.
2What we do not collect
- Your name, email address, phone number or any account details.
- The content of your documents, images, extracted text or PDF passwords.
- Your contacts, precise location, microphone, call logs or SMS.
- Payment information. The App has no in-app purchases.
3Services that collect data
The App uses the following Google services. They may collect and process some data under their own privacy policies.
Google AdMob (advertising)
The App is free and supported by ads. To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, AdMob may collect:
- device identifiers such as the Android Advertising ID, and app-set IDs;
- IP address, from which an approximate (coarse) location may be inferred;
- device and app information (model, OS version, language, app version);
- ad interactions such as views and taps, and diagnostic data.
Ads may be personalised based on this information unless you opt out (see Your choices). Learn more: How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Firebase Remote Config (app updates)
We use Firebase Remote Config to tell you when an update is available or required. To deliver this, Firebase processes a Firebase installation ID, the App version, basic device information and your IP address. We don't use it to identify you or to track you. Learn more: Privacy and security in Firebase.
Google Play services and ML Kit
The document scanner, text recognition and subject segmentation run on your device through Google Play services. Google may download the needed models and collect limited usage and diagnostic information to keep these features working, but your images are processed on the device. Learn more: ML Kit terms.
Internet connection check
The App needs an internet connection. To check that you're online it looks up well-known addresses (google.com, cloudflare.com). This sends only a standard network request and no personal information.

- Internet and network state: to load ads, check for updates and confirm you're online.
- Advertising ID (
AD_IDand Android ad services): used by AdMob for advertising. - No camera or storage permission: scanning is handled by Google Play services' scanner, and files are opened through the system file picker. The App itself is never granted these permissions.
6Your choices and controls
- Personalised ads: on Android, open Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Google → Ads) to reset or delete your Advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads. You'll still see ads, but they'll be less relevant.

- Everything: uninstalling the App, or clearing its storage in Android settings, permanently deletes all scans, signatures and settings from your device.
7Retention and deletion
Your documents remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. We keep no copies. Data collected by Google services is kept under Google's retention policies. For example, you can delete your Advertising ID as described above.
8Security
Your files are stored in the App's private storage, which Android protects from other apps. Connections to Google services use encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Locked PDFs are protected with AES-256 encryption. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so please also protect your device with a screen lock.
9Children
DocuScanCam is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
10Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA/CPRA in California or the DPDP Act in India), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent.
We don't hold personal data about you on our own systems. For data processed by Google, you can exercise your rights through Google's privacy tools, or contact us and we'll help where we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App changes or when the law requires it. We'll post the new version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be announced in the App.
